Multiple Teams · Cancer Awareness Match

Last night the Woodward-Granger Volleyball team hosted their annual Cancer Awareness match.  The theme for the night was “Mama said Knock You Out”  –referring to Cancer, that is.  Players, coaches and fans took the night to honor especially the mothers of 6 of our players, but also to honor all of our loved ones who have courageously fought the battle with cancer.

The night included a free-will donation dinner, numerous raffle items, bake sale items, and pledges for ace serves. The Freshmen, JV, and Varsity squads all racked up big wins versus visiting team Madrid and the Cheer squads from both schools performed between matches, as well.

The Hawks are now 17-6, undefeated in conference play and are working to make a big push in the post season.  The Hawks are lead by returning All-Stater, Olivia McCune, All-District players, Mary Hansen, Bree Lesch and McCune.  Those 3 were also 1st Team All-Conference selections in addition to Libero, Kara Bodensteiner.
